She's not turned a wrench in a while, like 5 years a while, but she's a capable Muir book VW mechanic. When I was trying to start my Airhead, she said subtly, "So what's it mean when the points appear to open and close but the static light stays on" and walked away. She's sneaky that way.

Excellent... I've got my '54 body over in my storage shed with a couple of Mercs that I need to get rid of. Can't see the '54 going that way though. It belongs on the IRS pan in the front yard that my son has taken over. 4 wheel disks, strong box, Subaru turbo donk and a '71 body on it now.

I'm doing the R90S up first.

I know vanzen doesn't need to be told what I'm about to say, but I still want to say it. A guy whose wife buys him a project bike does not need to be told to take good care of her. Evidence says he is doing just that, and doing a fine job of it.

My SO has not bought any project bikes – she well knows I have enough of those !
But she is one to buy TOOLS to facilitate those projects !
The latest was a 3-in-1 mill, drill, lathe.
All I can say about that is:
The chips are flying !
I will also add that she has volunteered to help pull the VW engine for tin installation.

Yes, I would hope that my advice to melville was entirely superfluous.
