I have a crashed 1984 R80RT. Will the heads from it work on my 1978 R100/7?

They will fit, but the performance will be off. The 77 and 78 R100s had unique piston/head combo that had a clearly defined squish band around the outside. Useing later heads with the 77 pistons results in a noteable loss of power. I can't comment on the R80 head shape.
