Scooters are way fun. It's only the State of Michigan that labels my P200 a "motorcycle".

I'm not saying that it isn't correct to give a vehicle a pet name as it were but let's examine post above.

No toaster= my premise

No Flying Brick = That is the pet name for 3 and 4 cylinder longitudinally mounted engine BMW engines a specific technical category.

No Bugeye Sprite = these pathetic little cars had a unique functional headlight system. According to Wiki made 47 hp... that sucks.

Deuce Coupe = a specific 1932 model of Ford

No Ford Exploder = probably refers to the Explorer a specific model. They probably exploded because of their poor but specific to that model crappy engineering.

No Gixxers = GSXR Suzukis are technically very specific compare with other Shitzuki street models.

Your other examples are similarly not like the toaster because it has no technical difference.

But a toaster just refers to an R75/5 with a chrome ornament. It's an Airhead. It can't be a specific model like your examples because it has no other specifications other than a chrome, tank detail....IMNSHO

In ZM's world there is the wonderful R75/5 that was my first BMW, that I bought in 1972. It was my freedom to travel wherever, with great reliability, and simple maintenance. Much better handling, quality, and value than the Japanese bikes of the day, and light years ahead of the British. I later owned a 1972 LWB R75/5, my second BMW and it had the chrome tank covers and less range. Less range is less practical. But it too was a great bike with better stability. To call some R75/5's a special name, because they had less range and a chrome do dad is heresy. IMO :geek:

While he was busy thinking of why a toaster is not a toaster, someone probably bought it for $4,500.

Come on, now, ZM. We all know that it's really important whether or not one calls a toaster a toaster and it's really a gender threat to ride a scooter. What other important things have you been thinking about lately?

By the way, those things you said about your first BMW, they're true for my bicycle.

Well, not exactly a gender threat . . . more a threat to the perception of the solidity of one's gender - and, even then, only for a male. Female gender solidity is immune to the scooter threat.

It was less stable than your second?
