Good honest Formply, strong enough to dance on and dead flat when the bike's on the centre stand on flat ground.
Do you think I should make a tablecloth or will a simple doily do for now?
Maybe paint it like this?

I've spent most of my money on women, motorcycles, and beer.
The rest of it I just wasted.

Good one! Any colour as long as it's black Dougie!

Pete which way you heading? Mr Google says it's about 500ks from Melton, thru Yea, the Tolmie Road, Beechworth then Granya. 8 hours.

I washed the bike tonight in readiness. You know I would don't y'all!

Anyhow, it was an organic wash...riding home from work without underwater gear, down the Eastern Freeway at 60kph in the middle of the red colours on the weather radar. The storm will be at Grants about now I expect. At least his pool will be full!

Does anyone need an urgent spare part or two that I could collect for them at the local BM Motorcycles independent shop?

Pete, that sounds like a pissabolity. We could meet where the Granya road meets the lake, or if we have time we could do the dirt to old Tallangatta and meet you at the highway junction there. That way we get to do the Granya Gap too. A bit of phone communication is in order. Will speak to Jeff today.

Mal, I was thinking about a vise for the coffee table too, but I really like the painted table setting idea of Dougie's. Perhaps both could work. Given that I do most of my bike repair work on the kitchen table it seems appropriate.

Dougies idea is way cooler than my idea.
Couldn't grant make you up a sticker from that pic? Non-slip of course, you want it to be practical.

btw The missus (Jo) says if its a po-lice seat the table cloth should be blue and white checks.

Ken is a late withdrawal unfortunately, unless he can make it for a day ride. Bummer.

I'm loving the blue and white print idea. I might have to design a pop-up vase with roses or summat.

Ah, sad that Ken has been scratched. I guess if he sends his teeth and RS up we'll let him off the hook.

yeah, Steve, i concur re your reading of google's melton-tintaldra route - don't know where i got my estimates from...

I spoke to Chas this evening saying I should be at Tallangatta at about 5pm (by yesterday's calcs) but on reassessment I think i should be able to get there way earlier if all things gell, which i have no doubt will happen. My proposed ride is ~450kms to Tal'gatta, so surely i should be there before 5!? The grey bit is that I intend to take the Rose River Road and being dirt I'm not sure how long it'll take.

Anyhow the plan is to call Chas or Jeff at 4pm to give them my whereabouts and take it from there... wherever that is...

All will be revealed in the morrow!

The Dandongadale area is a very pleasant ride. Are you going to Bright, over Tawonga Gap? That's fun. Nice warmup for Granya! Try a pale ale at the Bright Brewery in town.

Poor Ken. Was the internet invented when that pic was taken? Maybe we should call him Chad Knox. ;)

What about Jim from Beechworth?
