RS 30th Birthday Party - Oz

This is for the discussion of Motorcycling. The art, the science, the theory of all things related to our favorite sport... riding motorcycles.

Ah yes, the Jingellic bar.
I remember one night about twenty years ago on a cold rainy night, a group of us were staying in the hotel accommodation.
Quite late in the evening when no one really gave a shit about anything (except being badly behaved 'course) we proceeded to adorn one of the locals with all the pool and darts trophies from the mantle above the fireplace.
Of course the local bloke had fallen asleep in front of the fire on a wooden chair. Ya don't do that when surrounded by a heap of bikers, do ya!
Anyway, after he was further adorned with pool cues etc, etc, someone started piling kindling up around the base of the chair didn't they.
It was only when the laughter exceeded 100 Db, when a cigarette lighter was produced, did the local bloke open one eye halfway and realised that sumpin' weren' quite right.

Hmmmmm, funny night that one.

Ah now Jeff, I wonder why the image of Ken just popped into my head, when you mentioned somebody setting kindling around the guy's chair?

George just dropped in with a flyer that is meaningful, especially related to an earlier post (from Pete I think) about getting there early to Jingellic. Apparently there is an Art and Music Festival on the weekend at Walwa/Jingellic.

Since the campground is likely to be crowded it looks like Tintaldra will be the better option. I just spoke to Jeff - he knows the landlord at the Tintaldra pub and will confirm tomorrow that all will be well up there and will also see about organising some firewood.

So, officially, for the moment anyway it's Tintaldra - nice little pub with campground just a short stumble away - right on the river - 30kms east of Jingellic on the Murray River Road via Walwa, and prolly a few kms longer on the River Road (dirt) on the NSW side of the river. For Bob, it's 37 kms west of Khancoban, or you can do the Eliott way from Kiandra and down through Tooma.

And Chuey - yes, your Captain will be a virtual Guest of Honour. I think a quick polish would be in order before the event, and perhaps some precious fluids on the day. Please pass on our regards.

OK, so it's Tintaldra now, cool - Maija (sp?) will be pleased for the company, I'm sure - and it's a most excellent camping area... but i might just drop in at Jingellic on Sunday, looks like it could be a good gig.
Now getting the last minute stuff coordinated: new volt reg, install throttle crown/chain thinggie & new throttle top & grips, buy new chair, pack up tent (since last getaway)... remember all the other stuff i need to...
c ya there!

Don't forget -
we want PICTURES!
I've spent most of my money on women, motorcycles, and beer.
The rest of it I just wasted.

You must have different forecast down in Mexico Steve. BOM say clear and sunny Friday but showers returning Saturday. Thats from here to Albury.
Same bom. Forecast excellent for Pete's Friday ride...showers late Saturday. The bar is looking good if it rains.
Looks like the showers for Saturday have changed to sunshine.
