Wild. If it's as it appears, it's quite a camera capture. He's lucky to be alive, all things considered. The shock he felt must have been a false leader. The main strike appears to have been about 100 feet away on a couple of metal chimneys.

You can see the arc jump from the muffler guard to his right hand at about 0.14 in the video.

A young girl walking across a parking lot a few kilometres away was hit by a lightning in the throat. People who saw her said her chest was smoking. She died a few hours later.
