I tried to find Vanzens post of road and motorcycle themed artwork, but couldn't find it. So anyhow, here is a drawing I did back in 1977, after riding down Highway 1 from Seattle to L.A, entitled "Sunset". I know, it needs color, just haven't gotten around to it yet...

Thanks, you all! The fairing is a figment of my imagination. I had a Wixom on it for awhile, but sold it for gas money...

Those must be some of your most treasured reminders of her, Vanzen. Memories may fade, but the things that are made will endure. The special tools my Dad machined for me are some of my most valued possessions.

I guess that we think alike in some ways, Tim,
being that we are both artists, have a reverence for reminders, tools,
and important people in our lives.

I own and use some machine tools that are (to me) the cherished legacy of my grandfather.
My grandfather died when I was 7, and as I look back upon my youth,
this will be the man who was responsible for instilling in me the "need to make things" –


BTW & IMO,
I find the lower half of your drawing more personally involved than the top 1/2
possessing an emotional immediacy that works well.
Adding color might only extend the "pop" cultural / reference as seen in the rendering of the sky.
I find that what really attracts me to the drawing is the personal story being told.

I never had a clue that so many "airheads" were artistically involved !

Virgil Elliot is an artist who has owned airheads most of his life and helped me when I was building my conversion. He used to hang out here in one of the early Boxerworks forums.
