Hi All
I'm recommissioning the above bike which was converted to a single seat by the previous owner. I want to convert it back to dual seat and have purchased an aftermarket one which I suspect is a bit different to the original since clearly it needs a rear cowl. Looking online it seems there are quite a variety of cowls available and I don't want to get the wrong one. Any guidance would be appreciated, please refer to the attached photos.

Re: R80 1991 monolever - dual seat cowl
For the monolever models, the seat cowl is seperate from the seat itself and bolts to the frame... or to put it another way, it doesn't open with the seat.
The 'good' news is that, as far as I'm aware, all of the stock seat cowls for monolever machines are the same, (from 1985 to 1995) (apart from the paintwork of course. Note I'm referring to the road bikes, not the 'GS based machines or the Parelever models.
The 'perhaps not so good news' is that I can't be sure that the stock cowl will fit with your aftermarket seat... my impression from the image is that the rear of the seat may be too high to match. It might be worth contacting the makers of the seat for advice... unless, of course, you can find someone who has the same seat or someone who will take the cowl from their bike and let you try it...
Incidentally, the cowl consists a number of parts as in the diagram below...

Re: R80 1991 monolever - dual seat cowl
Thanks Rob
Having seen a few pictures of R80s online the cowl top seems very square whereas the seat I've got looks like it has a cut-out for a more rounded shape.
Here is an example for sale on ebay

I will try contacting the seat seller as you suggest.
