Re: Max tire sizes for a R100RT?
Thanks for the reply - the thing about stock is that there are very few all terrain tyres in stock sizes. The only one I've seen is TKC70 4.00-18 64T M+S rear - stretching to 120 gives a much bigger choice. The tip about deflation before assembly may well be a win. BarryH - great data - thanks! Thes...

Re: Max tire sizes for a R100RT?
I don't understand it! I've seen several videos where people have 120/80 metric tires on. I've watched this video where the 120/80 is just rolled in, no problem. But the camera angle doesn't show the brake shoes. https://youtu.be/tGlkR3nYa2Q?si=o5cEbQPBlLbBhpXJ&t=551

Re: Max tire sizes for a R100RT?
Sorry to resurrect an old thread - but how do we get a larger rear tyre in past the brake shoes? I have struggled to get the old metzler 4.00 out (which is 110mm across).
are there narrower brake shoes that can be substituted?

single pot brembos - brake lines
Hi,
I have a pair of single pot brembo callipers off a R80RT Monoshock bike. They have rigid brake lines on them.
Is there a conversion kit to ditch the rigid lines in favour of braided steel with banjo bolts?

Re: Introduction and R80/7 ex police bike
Thanks Barry, One has to buy them cheap, coz they cost way more than you think to restore! The photo's do flatter it a bit! But we have had it running and done the tappets. Carbs are off and I'm waiting on some rebuild kits. Its been stood for a long time I think. My last project was a Ducati I boug...

Introduction and R80/7 ex police bike
Hi All, Just joined the forum as I have bought a 1977 R80/7 ex police bike from Mathewson's February auction. https://i.postimg.cc/sx6BnccS/20250215-132412313-i-OS.jpg The plan is to get it up and running for this season with as little work as possible, just safety items such as brakes etc. Then nex...
