A good day in the mountains

A couple of weekends ago I had nice ride up in the north Georgia mountains. It was chilly, so I had the roads nearly to myself.
Nothing much finer than US60 on a crisp autumn day. There's a steep drop on the other side of the guard-rail, as this part of the road winds crookedly along the side of a mountain.
State park recreation area...I forget which one...there's a small lake somewhere behind those trees.
Saw a road-side turnout that I thought would have a spectacular view...not so much once I got up close:
Decided to explore an unpaved road in the forest. Nice day to be up there!
Street-tires + greasy-slick mud + a little bit of ice in the mud = oops.
The sun eventually moved toward low in the sky, so time to head home- but not before a nice quiet moment beside a pretty reservoir:
