Windscreen for R75

Hi..I've managed to get a lovely original BMW screen for my R75 ( I have RT bars fitted)....can anybody tell me how to fit it..??? This seems like a stupid question as the breaker who supplied it says it bolts straight on to the handle bar clamps - but that doesn't seem to work for me as the bracket fouls the bars themselves....so before I go starting to disconnect all of the cables and electrics etc a few words of guidance would be appreciated. In particular am I missing any bits? I have only the screen with the bracket attached...should there be any spacers to go under the clamps?
Many thanks,
Ian

Aha! Here's me replying to my own 'Post'. It seems there are alternative handlebar clamps to take the screen and I have some coming in the post .
Many thanks to those who started thinking about this.

A couple of pictures (or a link to same) of your bike's handlebars and mounts, and the windshield and bracket, would aid discussion. This is BMW's OE/accessory shield for otherwise unfaired bikes?

Nimrod, how do you plan to handle the wobble that the wind screen will introduce? Even if your bike is now stable, I guarantee that it won't be stable with any handlebar type of fairing.

Thanks Duane...yep know what you mean, having wobbled around various parts of the Europe and the US on various /5/6/7BM's! I suppose I just wanted to 'see' how it was with the very light OE Screen and RT bars. I have only just got the bike and it came with the high bars fitted so it was almost easier to try the screen than swap to the standard bars which I would do if I was using it without the screen. I will report back. Even if it's from my hospital bed!

In general, an experienced person can test to a fairly high degree of accuracy the risk of a wobble. Few are experienced and it is still a gamble.

Many bikes are so badly set up that they have to wobble. I can see it without touching it. Because I have seen so many get injured, I usually try to warn them. The warnings often go unheeded. It is very common for pride of ownership to overcome knowledge of an expert. Just look at the medical industry. Doctors go unheeded all of the time. Why would it be different for motorcycle riders? It isn't.

No /5 or later bike should be unstable if properly set up. You shouldn't have wobbled around Europe, or anywhere else.
