Heading up to Mt. Hotham in Victoria, Australia. Recent fires have been extensive, and now landslips have closed the road.

Not sure. They got enough rain last week to put the fires out though. She'llbe wrote:Are the landslips due to rain? We are having a lot of landslips up here, but no bush fires!!!! Boy am I glad of that.
The Tolmi road took a lot of heat 6-7 years back, but the corners had better line of sight. The re-growth is thick and lush now, just waiting for the next burn. Up around Tom Groggin was badly burned same year I think.ME 109 wrote:Oh, my beloved racetracks, one by one being burnt to a crisp over the last ten years.
I don't see many places now that have not been burnt.
Millions of square kilometres.
Mountain ash and snow gums don't like fire. The mountains are covered in silver dead trees. Not burnt black (although many ae) but dead from radiant heat.justoneoftheguys wrote:Trees love rain. Trees love fire. Trees are cool.
