One of my favourite roads.

Heading up to Mt. Hotham in Victoria, Australia. Recent fires have been extensive,and now landslips have closed the road. :cry: Right click, view image.

Are the landslips due to rain? We are having a lot of landslips up here, but no bush fires!!!! Boy am I glad of that.

Oh, my beloved racetracks, one by one being burnt to a crisp over the last ten years.
I don't see many places now that have not been burnt.
Millions of square kilometres.

Not sure. They got enough rain last week to put the fires out though.

The Tolmi road took a lot of heat 6-7 years back, but the corners had better line of sight. The re-growth is thick and lush now, just waiting for the next burn. Up around Tom Groggin was badly burned same year I think.

8 months after the Tolmi fires.

Mountain ash and snow gums don't like fire. The mountains are covered in silver dead trees. Not burnt black (although many ae) but dead from radiant heat.
Takes an awful long time to recover.
