Noticed something unusal with Master Cylinder

Hi Gents,
I'm working on the front brake of my 95 R80 and when cleaned out the Reservoir, I noticed the fluid ports where significantly offset and almost completely blocked off by the reservoir itself.
I have not seen this before. Has anyone else?
It still works, but I am not very happy about it. It appears to me to be a manufacturing defect, but I don't know.....
