I don't understand exactly what it is you are shaping but a hacksaw and file will do most anything you could need to do. That is, if you have (and it sounds like you must) a good vise.

Chuey............done a bit of filing

You'll recall I fitted the LEDs in question, and am still very pleased with them ...

Here is low beam (50W) …

… and high beam (75W) alone …

… and high beam plus spotlights.

However, good as they are for riding at moderate speed in the twisties, and seeing critters on the side of the road, I still don't have enough light out the front. I need something that will penetrate. I want to be able to see that mob of pissed 'roos lurking around in their camo gear a few hundred metres ahead when I'm travelling at speed on a straight road. For this, I think a bright spot with a narrow beam, say 10 to 20 degrees, would work. I like the look of these -

I'd really like to see them in action. A combination of spot and flood is the way to go, IMO.
The ones in your link above are the ones I used Charlie. I'm very happy , no doubt there are better ones out there ( noting some of MS's comments on another thread) but these are good and I'm happy.

Even though they are "spots," they appear to have quite a bit of spill off into the sides of the road. That's actually a sign of poor optics in a spotlight lens, but, for your use, it's all to the good.

Yes it is, I'm going to experiment with one light aimed slightly higher and one lower to give a longer area of cover. As you say, probably poor quality optics but for my purpose they are excellent .

They've spoiled me for a standard headlamp though ! ;)

Oh, no kidding. They totally kick the stocker's ass. The project was totally worthwhile.

I am still looking for a good penetrating spotlight.
I have noticed that there are some spots available that claim an 8 degree 'pencil' beam. I think that is what I would like to try.
Must add a relay for the high beam too. I plan to use one of these, from my old dead Magna.

It uses regular spade terminals and even has the schematic printed on it.

Charlie, I can see advantages of the "poor" optics of the Chinese version, the wider beam is good, that's why I was originally going to buy a spot and a work light but these seem to be a bit of both and for me it works, lighting up the side of the road as well as the tar.

Charlie, I can see that that relay uses spade connectors. It would concern me that the terminals look very close together. I would at least put two layers of shrink tubing on each connector and about 1" up the wire in order to ensure that they didn't make contact with each other.

I do like the idea of re-purposing things.
