I'm obsessed with the deterioration in Iraq, and what a profound waste our involvement has been.
I'm thinking about interesting comping patterns, and studying new ways of subdividing time.
I am in the process of moving my slide from the pinky to the third finger, as it is not only easier to keep perpendicular to the string, but is also a smarter finger.
I think about how even with increased flywheel weight in the new wasserboxer, there still is a further decay in bottom end pulling power compared to the previous design. It would seem twin cylinder low end pulling power is a lost art in modern performance motorcycle engines. It seems to me that twins should be all about strong low end and still make good power overall.
The lack of grease fittings in the automotive/motorcycle industry is a travesty.
I'm wondering how difficult the valve adjustment is going to be on my KTM, and that Airheads with points ignition are the most reliable motorcycles.
I think about that I am ready to leave internal combustion engines behind but the technology is taking too long to arrive.
I'm starting to think about Gilfs!

What waste? Didn't somebody profit from it? We caused that mess by removing Sadaam. And I still think that if Assad goes down, the same thing will probably happen in Syria.
Oh, and while I'm picking fights, I don't think the R75/5 SWB bikes outhandled the '69 - '70 Bonnevilles. There were several R75's in the '69 Isle of Man TT. They did not win. But to be sure, some time I'll have to swap rides with my buddy. I know how to ride a short wheel base airhead and shift on the left, but I'm nervous about his riding my Triumph with foot controls opposite to what he's used to.

They did outhandle the /5, but were a PIA to maintain to do even a small fraction of the miles the /5 could do with ease. Back then the shitty chains alone made long distance a messy affair. I know, I had several triumphs before my /5. I tried the CB750 for a few months, but it was a heavy piece O shit. With the /5, I'd just put an extra set of points and a condenser under the seat and enjoyed better reliability than my later airheads. When your electronic ignition fails, you are stuck.
There were several R75's in the '69 Isle of Man TT. They did not win.
The R75 is a machine built for touring mit a driveshaft. Not really designed for racing.

Halliburton and the rest of the military-industrial complex profited handsomely. It's what the war was all about, after all. Nothing to do with WMDs and everything to do with massive profits for the corporations that run the country.

This is what I said several pages back: "This is a huge country. What a diverse population! Common sense prevails in some places. There may be less common sense in the more populated areas. Just sayin'. I'm not calling you on this."
I'm not saying we should not be concerned about our global political position but can we (you and me) really make a dent in the program? Should we be concerned? Yes. But I don't think we should use up a good portion of political awareness and inertia to whine about it. Big country, big world. We're little people.
