Forget it. You are trying to make yourself happy, satisfied, content, etc. by buying another toy. Life doesn't work that way---what you get is very shallow, the pleasure transient---the new kitchen will go farther, as will riding the snot out of what you got.Garnet wrote:Come on you guys, I'm trying to forget I saw that add, quit draggin it back up to the top.
It would cost less than the kitcken renos I'm doin right now. Heck it would be less than the fridge and stove.![]()
Maybe I can have the electrcian put it on his bill.
The 90S is an overpriced collectors toy. if you think having one in the living room will really make your life complete, it would be there already. Your heart of hearts tells you better. Listen.

Well, it is tarted up quite a bit what with all the polished aluminum, smoke red paint, "mag" wheels, and such. But it does appear to be a R90S from the cues that I can recognize, primarily the handlebar clamps which are exclusive to the R90S. Certainly there are plenty of /6 period cues such as kicker transmission, round footpegs, and such.
The bike has lost a lot of it's collectible value but it has the appearance of a cared for airhead. That, in and of itself, is increasingly rare in such an old bike.
I have lusted for a R90S for years, but like most everybody else I would want it to look like a R90S. Plus I'm now out of my airhead acquiring mode--unless a recognizable sweet R90S should happen to show up for sale at something like a reasonable price.
Slap some Daytona Orange bodywork on that bike and swap in spoked wheels and my lust barometer would go up. And for money Holt BMW would paint up some really nice body parts, tank, and fenders.
$7K whether Canadian or 'Merican looks like a good price for what looks like a good bike. I wouldn't kick that bike out of my bed (figuratively speaking of course).
Editing, I'm betting that Garnet is thrilled that Zombie Master sort of resurrected another zombie, so to speak.

Not easy to look past all the tacky garbage on that one---but see the bent fairing brackets? (front and side view), bent fender brace (front view), missing instruments (rear view, not replaced after the crash..). It's been down pretty good.
Weird bars and the controls are misaligned---they really do only go one place unless you have one arm much shorter than the other.
The pics are a collection taken at different times---he doesn't shut that petcock off the same way every time. A rider would have replaced the foodpeg rubbers, and known how to use the very good stock centerstand---and gotten sick of the sidestand and replaced it instead. Wheels are known problematic but maybe not back when he thought they were kewl...
The hype in the ad text and the word salad suggests an idjit and the missing info (like the mileage maybe???) confirms it.
It's clean and shiny and the license plate is obscured so you...um...what? Anyway if medium mileage, less than 60k maybe 4 grand tops if it has the toolkit and the frame checks out strait. Seven is a joke for something so badly molested and it has no collectors value whatsoever....well, maybe the engine badges just by themselves.
Just my .02 and all that....

There is what looks like an unmolested 90s for sale on the UK BMW club website for £5000.

Good eye She'llbe! Also the handlebar top clamps are not "S". The gas tank appears to have the recessed cap instead of the hinged cap. Though the rider pegs are round the passenger pegs are square. The mirrors of course should be round, but I'm getting really picky here. She'llbe wrote:That's a 90S with Bing carbs?
I'm guessing the title says R90S, but the bike has seen some "difficulties" between then and now.
Editing: Also I believe the exhaust nuts should have the large fins.
