A good giggle there, Dave. I can almost hear the frustration. I guess that the handsome bloke in the middle is your good self.

I've just lashed out on a cheap pocket camera for travelling (crikey, you 'mericans put only one L in travelling - lazy bastards!). Anyway, I was pleased to find when I got home that there is a button for the self timer, and a choice from that button of 2 seconds and 10 seconds - no more wading through menus. The 2 second timer is great for low-light tripod shots of motorcycle parts where just clicking the shutter causes vibration blur.
Camera is a Fujifilm Finepix A170, 10megapixel, $100 with 4GB card. I like it.

What was funny about it was... I didn't know it had a timer until the morning of the trip and was inadvertently setting it each time at 2 seconds then running around to sit down between them while counting to 10. They finally understood what the camera should be doing and told me on the third try that the little red light had already blinked!!!

Travelling?? OH, you mean Travelin (Trav-a-lynn)... right? The G and I guess your other L is silent.
Where's Lonny when use needs him ta splain tis stuff?

This was a cheap camera... both in how it was made, and the fact that I got a box full of broken ones free and made a few working ones out of them. There was a lot of shots I would avoid taking because my eyes could zoom in better than the camera could. It was basicly a digital Instamatic. I have a better one now. A Kodak easyshare z915. Bought it during a 4th of July sale for $129. (BTW, 1776 on 4th of July, we resolved to run SEND the British off for the sole reason (insert cough sounds) that you chaps in January 26th of 1788 could celebrate "Australia Day"... You're welcome). ;)

You rode away from both, just not on two wheels.

I remember you showing up at Kens in '06.
The range of colors looked worse in person.
Man you were hurting. It's hard to get back
on the saddle sometimes.

Rob, the morning after you got to Ken's, I was sure glad that long hot shower brought you back to the land of the living. Beforehand, you were ready to be abulanced back home.

Stephen & I arrived on Friday.

I spent all day Saturday feeling like the proverbial 20 lbs of shit in a 5 lb bag, planning my alternative routes home. (Hi Larry Fixit-Lurker...!)

It wasn't until Sunday morning, I think, that I was offered some ibuprofen (or something like that), and that and the hot shower did me a world of good.
I about fell asleep a couple of times riding on the back of Starstuff's bike on Sunday. I should have stayed at camp and rested...

That's right, I forgot about you riding back with Starstuff. Yeah, bet that was a long, long ride back home. Your bike....didn't you trailer it back later on? Speaking of Starstuff...hope he's doing alright; he really dropped off the board and forum rallies.

No, I was able to ride home well enough. I needed Starstuff along to help me with getting my jacket off & on (esp. when hot!).

I think we were able to ride together until I was within one tank of home. No doubt he was helpful at gas stops! I don't remember those details, I've crashed since then! ;)

I did take him to the confluence of the Ohio & Mississippi rivers on the way home, though. I'll bet the view is more impressive from a small aircraft.
