No you didn't, Duane – effectively speaking, you had FOUR 2-valve heads !
... And let's keep those industrial 4-cylinder engines in the peoples' cars, eh ?

Since your friend has a known good part to reference,
turning another should be a piece of cake for any machinist / shop with a lathe.
Chances will be slim to none that he will ever find a MKM specific spindle for sale,
but then, from what I can tell, except for the overall-length dimension,
the part should be quite similar (if not the same) to the BMW part !
Wheel & final drive are (essentially) stock components,
only the width of the Swing-arm should vary ...

I would really like a MKM frame, couple that with a slightly more upright riding position, really nice.

Going back to the contentious area of power claims this is a dyno from Jim Cray's stage one engine and I think that the figures are very close to the krauser figures, though with 40mm bings rather than the 32s (i would assume) that were used on the stock R100 tested.

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f146/ ... _51_33.jpg

My engine was done to a very similar spec to the dyno chart above Seems to be similar levels of torque to the 4V and certainly the on the road feel was a fairly fantastic improvement, but mind you the engine prior to the work had quite a few miles on it. The base standard cost was around £600, but I paid about double that as the final price included a full top end overhaul, new ignition etc etc about 7 years ago.

My engine has moved on since and now sports a 1070 kit, dells, straight through exhausts and 40mm pipes, BHP figure has gone up to 72 BHP at 1200 miles, with 63 ft lbs of torque, but $ for $ the original stage 1 works seemed to make the most difference.
Currently Jim is building a R90/6 engine for me, balanced with a bit of weight taken off the flywheel, twin plugged with light clean up on the ports, fitted with one of the sets of new lightweight H/C pistons now being produced for the 900s, I'm keeping carbs and exhaust standard, so am looking for quietness, smoothness and good efficiency. when it is run in I will put it on the dyno and see what the figures are, going to collect it on Friday, can't wait.

That is some bike of Pommie John's, Jim seems to have the magic when it comes to these engines, he is also a very nice guy, without any bulldust to him.

I just need to get my bike to be slightly more stable at speed...........which could be where a MKM frame might help, I have heard that they are still being built back in germany, but my energies are directed onto the 900 at the moment.

Actually, pommie john has implemented one of the nicest "airhead frame recipes" on his racer
that I have ever seen ...
Although, if a stocker-boxer isn't "stable at speed"
I'd be suspecting issues. IMNSHO.
