Just noticed - the front mudguard looks like it's on backwards...

As usual, the excellent BMBikes website has all the information on chassis numbers: http://www.bmbikes.co.uk/chassispages/e ... sis900.htm

Garnet, Garnet, Garnet, how could you even imagine that I might be up to something like that--no matter how fond I am of R90S bikes, even a clone R90S bike.

What's more I can prove my good intentions. Tell me where you live, then when you go to look at the bike ask the owner if anybody named Ken has asked about it.

Ken, pure of heart in OKlahoma
Now I am worried. :lol:

Here is a link to some better quality pics.

I'll ask some more questions and get a VIN and then I have an airhead knowlagable friend that can go and check it out for me. Problem there is I trust him less with an R90S for sale than I trust Ken.

Ken in S.A., the fairing on R90s's is mounted to the forks so it turns with the handlebars, no problem with clearance.

[quote="Garnet"]I found this 74 R90S about 300 miles from home, asking $5900 OBO. [quote="Garnet"]

R90S is a really fun bike. I don't count rivets so I'll leave that part alone.

BTW...the cylinders look black to me.

Hmmm, on the R90s, the fairing is handlebar mounted isn't it?

Well, as a detail, the fairing is mounted to the forks, the lower mounting points being the turn signal stalks and the ujpper mounting points being connected to a bracket just under the top nut on the fork tubes. The effect is, of course, the same.

One of my future project bike plans is to mount an S fairing onto a modified RS or RT bracket, which in turn is mounted (as you know) on the frame stem. Since the RS/RT headlight assembly is mounted to that bracket, and since the headlight has to look through the hole in the S fairing, the S fairing ends up being mounted a tad higher (and I think a tad more forward) on the bike than the stock fork mounted S fairing.

The RPM supperbikes from the late 70s had frame mounted S fairings (I believe).

Everyone needs somthing to believe in......I believe I'll have a beer. 8-)

This add show an RS without the fairng but with the headlight. It does look a bit higher.
