I know of a few, one outside San Marcos and one south of San Antonio. There are some in Houston. Is Lovekraft still in Ft Worth?

Re: Deep Oil Pan
I put 3 full quarts in and it will show about 1/2 quart low on the dipstick. This is a good thing as there's a wee spot more air volume which makes for maybe a tiny bit less stress on the breathing apparatus.
I think this is the best of both worlds...seems like he's using the stock dipstick. So ...

Re: Ignition coil resistance readings
I thought that the secondary resistance would be an important value. Seems like the amount of resistance in all those coils of wire is what gives you spark at the plug when the field collapses.

What is the resistance on the secondary circuit. Seems that's important also.

Re: Since we,re on side stands
I understand that the way the stock stand works can be modified to defeat the auto-retract. Snowbum mentions rotating the spring perch between the frame and the motor. Serious problems can result on that first left turn if you don't realize the stand is still down.

Re: Side Stand woes - too long!?
Metric sized tires have a smaller radius and the whole bike will be lower. I discovered that with my /7 noticing that the bike was nearly vertical when the bike was on the side stand.

Re: Crankshaft sprocket removal question.
Snowbum writes about changing the timing chain on this page:
https://bmwmotorcycletech.info/timingchain.htm
He has info about 2/3 of the way on protecting the nose of the crankshaft.
