alright, so... I went ahead and adjusted the overshift by adding shims, which in this case are small precision washers under the heads of the stop screws. Backing out the staked, slot-screws was the hardest part, next to scrounging for suitable washers... but that's what makes all this fun, hmm?

Yes, actually all the gears plus the intermediate shaft.
I'll be sure to post the results eventually. Not sure how well this will work as the FD is 25/6.
I still need to assemble the engine. It has 1mm shaved off the cylinder and a CycleWorks lightened flywheel.

R27 gearbox.
I'm swapping-in /2 solo gears and haven't disturbed the selector mechanism, which seems to work well.
All the manuals I have mention checking the overshift between the pawl and detent notches but they're otherwise vague regarding how to go about doing this.
